I was drawn to Heather’ Bruce’s work as she consistently looks beyond the conventional to find what’s actually needed. She teaches more than techniques – she teaches how to question, how to listen deeply, and how to trust what we find. She walks the talk, and I’ve been lucky enough to witness her work firsthand: turning breech babies, creating huge shifts in her clients, and showing what’s possible when skill meets deep insight. Her mentorship gave me real, lived clinical experience-like working one-on-one with women in the Gloriavale community on the West Coast of the South Island.
That kind of hands-on learning grounded everything I knew in the classroom and expanded how I work to this day.

“I was interested in learning Maya abdominal massage, and I had a couple of treatments with Heather which I loved. She has woven into her treatments, healing techniques from different traditional societies as well as acupuncture and lymphatic drainage. This coupled with Maya abdominal massage which readjusts the ligaments of the uterus and adhesion breaking helped with my C-section scar and I instantly felt taller and freer. They were simple techniques that can have profound effect on the quality of peoples lives.

One of the things I really love about the Gentling Way is that the responsibility to heal is in your hands, not the practitioner. Not only do you receive treatment to correct the imbalances that is causing suffering, you also learn self care techniques that you take home and continue the healing/wellness journey in your own home”.
